The K-2 program focuses on building an enjoyment of soccer and getting lots of touches on the ball (repetitions) to build ball control. Sessions are once a week (typically Saturday mornings). They start with 30 minutes of fun, high-repetition activities and end with an informal, 20- to 30-minute small-sided game. The K-2 program runs in the fall and spring. Each season is six weeks starting Saturday around Labor Day in the Fall and mid-April in the Spring. Cost is $60. Each player receives a shirt but must have their own size 3 ball, soccer cleats, and shin pads. You can register through SportsManager. Contact K-2 Director Alan Lambkin with any questions.
K through 2nd Grade SEASON SCHEDULE (Saturdays):
-9:30a to 10:15a – Kindergarten
-10:30a to 11:20a – Grade 1
-11:30a to 12:25a – Grade 2
All sessions are at Davis Hill Elementary School.
EQUIPMENT
Every player must bring a properly inflated size-3 soccer ball to every session. We do a lot of activities that require every player to have a ball. Players should also wear soccer cleats, shin-guards, and bring plenty of water. Baseball and football cleats are not allowed; we prefer sneakers if not wearing soccer cleats. Players will receive an HYS jersey to keep on the first day.
COVID-19 MITIGATION PROTOCOLS
As a member organization of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, we have and we will continue to follow the guidance of the State and local health boards, as well as the MYSA. At this moment, face masks are recommended for spectators. Players are not required to wear masks. https://www.mayouthsoccer.org/assets/61/6/soccer_activities_protocols_september_1_2021.pdf
